Sunday afternoon update...

Hey! Graci is still resting well, just seems to be fighting a little sleep right now. Here last temp was 99.8; so it has gone back up a little, but we pray it will come right back down. The doctor came in earlier, and here is what he told us:
1. Her WBC went UP to 900 (from 600 yesterday morning) which is what we all have been praying for. They want to check it tomorrow morning again to see it continuing to go up. They still are telling us to hold off on visitors because with a WBC this low she has no defense against any bugs that may be brought in.

2. Her spinal fluid is growing something. The doctor feels strongly it is growing something because it might have been contaminated. He feels that way because of how good she is doing in the last 24 hours. He says it is common for contamination to happen. They will let it continue to grow and they will be able to tell if it is a contamination or something more. If it does end up being bacterial meningitis we would be facing 10-14 more days here and she would be on different antibiotics. But Jeremy & I both feel strongly that is not what it is and we will get good news about the spinal fluid growth tomorrow morning.

3. We have been very concerned with her umbilical hernia and feel that it is bothering her. It is not common for hernias to bother babies; they are very common and usually go away by the age of 2. She was probably born with it. We do feel that it is causing her some stomach cramping; and because of that we have requested a specialist come in and take a look. Hopefully they will be by later today.

With all that to say, Grayson is MUCH BETTER!!! We have faith that she will continue on this same path; and hope to still be able to go home tomorrow. Please continue to pray specifically for:
1. Her fever to go back down and stay normal.
2. Her spinal fluid to show contamination only with no signs of bacterial meningitis.
3. Reassurance from the specialist about her hernia that it is okay...
4. Her to continue to rest well...
5. Everything to come back ok and we get to go home tomorrow to our sweet Madi.
6. Our family...

Madi is doing well. My parents are staying with her. I got to slip away for a bit yesterday and go and see her. She is playing and having a blast with her Pop and Nana, but I am sure she misses her Daddy & Mommy as much as we miss her. It is very hard being away from her.
